Please Read Through This Important Info
It has taken us 5 years to bring a competition back to Las Vegas. It’s really important that you read through and follow these rules, so we can make this an annual event. Let us know if you have additional questions. Thank you 🧡
Protect the Parking Lot!
- Do not place lit chimneys or charcoal on the pavement
- Do your best to avoid dripping grease onto the pavement
- Dispose of all of your trash before you leave
Load In
When you arrive, please go to the staging area. If the area is full, find an available parking spot near the staging area. Do not block active roadways.
We hope to be able to park teams late Thursday afternoon, but we won’t know for sure until Thursday. We’ll update teams via the Facebook group.Â
Friday load in starts at 7 a.m. If you’re staying at the Silverton or Hyatt, you may also park in their lots until load in starts.Â
Team Layout
Here is the team site map. When assigning spots, we based the layout on:
- The overall layout of the parking lot
- Team registration date/time
- The description you provided about your setup
- Requests to be near other teams
If you know your rig is hard to park, we recommend coming early. We reserve the right to make changes as needed.Â
Tow Vehicles
If you have a trailer and tow vehicle that don’t fit within the full length of your spot, you will need to disconnect and either park it in your spot or in the overflow parking. If you are staying at the Silverton or Hyatt, you may use their lots.
You must disconnect quickly and cannot block active roadways. For the teams on the right side of the map, it may be easiest to turn left into the spot, so your tow vehicle is toward the center row of teams. Leave space for your ramp to drop down within your space, if possible.
Bass Pro Shops is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Their roads must remain open for customers.
Safety
For sites located along active roadways. We recommend setting up your cook site toward the center row of teams and parking your trailer and/or vehicle toward the active roadway side to create a barrier.
Security
BBQ Jackpot and its partners are not responsible for the loss or theft of any items. We will have security on site Friday night.
Cook’s Meeting
The cook’s meeting will be at 5 p.m. inside the Bass Pro Shops. Go into the store and up the escalator. Then, turn left. The conference room will be on your right. Please only send one represenative. The room is not that large.
Turn-Ins
Turn-ins will be outside the back side of the Hyatt. If you are cooking alone and need help with a runner, please let us know.
Please note, because there are so many teams, the distance to turn ins ranges from 250-975 feet. The walk may take up to 5 minutes for the furthest teams
Water + Ice
Water and ice will not be available on site. Please plan accordingly. There are several gas stations nearby that sell ice. Target is across the street. They sell large jugs of water.
If you have an RV, there is a TA across the street that has a water fill station and propane fill services. You can contact the Oasis RV Park on the opposite side of the freeway for dump station services.
Electricity + Generators
Electricity will not be provided. If you need power, you will need to provide that yourself. Bass Pro requests that you place your generator on a protective mat or pan to protect the parking lot. We’ll have tar paper available for teams who need it.
Food Safety
Food safety is paramount. You must have a proper handwash station and sanitizer bucket. And food must be stored at proper temperatures. Please review the Southern Nevada Health District Food Safety Checklist. Please do not serve food to the public. We are not permitted for that. Bass Pro Shops will be providing BBQ samples.
Fire Safety
Per the Clark County Fire Department, no cooking can be done under any canopy or tent. Smokers must be at least 10 feet from the canopy. Each cook site will also need a fire extinguisher.
Trash + Ash
Two dumpsters will be located within the team area. Please dispose of all trash (including grease) in these dumpsters. Make sure the grease is sealed in a plastic bag before transporting it across the parking lot.
DO NOT PLACE HOT COALS IN THE DUMPSTERS. Metal ash cans will be setup throughout the team ares.
Awards
Awards will be at 5:30 p.m. in the front of Bass Pro Shops. Here is a breakdown of the prize payouts. Checks will be presented after awards. Winning teams are required to fill out a W9. To speed up the process, please fill this form out in advance and bring it to the cook’s meeting.
Departure
Please leave your spot as clean as you found it, and take your trash to the dumpsters.
When loading out, please follow the same rules as load in. Do not block active roadways. Teams are welcome to spend the night Saturday. We have to clear the parking lot by 9 a.m. Sunday.
